In 2015, the newly revised <Advertising Law > is passed by the National People's Congress, a comprehensive ban on tobacco advertising, in order to evaluate the ban status  of tobacco advertising clauses in <Advertising Law > after half a year since its implementation, especially about tobacco promotion in tobacco point-of-sales, CATC chose 11 different cities to roll out investigations. The investigation is focused on outdoor public places, blocks, point of sale and tobacco promotion. 1100 Tobacco sales point were selected, including convenience stores, tobacco shops, supermarkets, kiosks. 88 outdoor streets were selected, and each city is represented with its 8 streets in 4 different districts, another 1364 public places were chosen, which includes public transport, waiting stations for public transport, restaurants, medical and health institutions, bars, internet bar, shopping malls, train station, coach station, airport etc.. Within 11 Cities, 7 cities have not been found with outdoor tobacco advertising; 2 Cities (Shanghai, Shenzhen) have not been found with tobacco advertising in public places. 3.8% of the public places have been found with tobacco advertisements in 9 tobacco advertising attached cities. Tobacco advertising in tobacco sales point was found in all the cities, 46.8% of the tobacco sale-point has tobacco advertising.
