Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH) has been organizing a signature event “Quit to Win” contest since 2009 to encourage smokers to kick the smoking habit and motivate non-smokers to support their family members and friends to quit. With the continued support from District Council and community organizations, COSH launched “Quit to Win” Smoke-free Community Campaign in 2012 to raise public awareness on smoking hazards, enhance community participation in tobacco control as well as strengthen the smoke-free community concept and ultimately strive for a smoke-free Hong Kong. The campaign succeeded to recruit over 1,000 smokers each year.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of “Quit to Win”, COSH organized the “Smoking Cessation Assemble” on 3 and 4 August 2019 for the first time in collaboration with HKU Youth Quitline, Pok Oi Hospital, The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon, TWGHs Integrated Centre on Smoking Cessation and United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service. Offering members of the public the chance to learn about smoking cessation services and healthy lifestyle, the event attracted close to 2,000 visitors. Health check, interesting game and exhibition booths were held at the same time, allowing general public to grasp a better understanding on smoking hazards and cessation benefits.

Professor Sophia CHAN, JP, Secretary for Food and Health and Antonio KWONG, COSH Chairman also participated in the event to share the tobacco control experience with the cessation service providers. Being a special guest for the event, the Smoke-free Ambassador, B. Duck called for non-smokers to join the "Smoke-free Channel" and to take an initiative role for reminding those around us to distance from different forms of cigarettes.

Application deadline is 30 September 2019. For details and recruitment schedule, please visit
