What would you do if someone was smoking indoors at a public place? "I don't want to cause a conflict", "I have no choice but to endure when my boss is smoking in front of me", or  "Never mind, he will finish in a few minutes."

But did you know how harmful second-hand smoke is? It contains a host of deadly chemicals and carcinogens which can cause suffering from heart disease, stroke and lung cancer.

Moreover, second-hand smoke  may also lead to premature births, low birth weight or even sudden infant death syndrome. It is damaging to children and can lead to leukemia, lymphoma and brain malignancy.

So – is it really true that we cannot do anything about the annoying and deadly second-hand smoke?

No! We have the weapon, which is the 100% smoke-free law!

Given the deadly harms caused by second-hand smoke, our Russian friends already passed a National Smoke-free Law in 2013, which bans smoking in all indoor public places, working places and public transportations. Since then, the smoking rate in Russia has been decreased from 41% to 31%.

In China, Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai became 100% smoke-free indoors one after the other since 2015. But that is not enough!

We wish to see a big progress in China: We want to see the nation adopt a 100% smoke-free law nationally in the Year of the Rooster!
