In recent years, COSH produced a series of Announcement of Public Interests (APIs) under the theme of “Quit Smoking” which received wide public support. New API titled“Stay away” was launched in October 2017 to explain the hazards of smoking and encourage smokers to protect the next generation from secondhand smoke and prevent them from picking up the smoking habit by being a smoke-free role model and quitting smoking. The API also urges the public to support their family and friends to build a healthy lifestyle and strive for a smoke-free Hong Kong.
